SprayWise Roadshow to Hit a Town Near You
Croplands are currently participating in the SprayWise Roadshow through southern and central QLD and northern NSW
Croplands, Nufarm and Crop Care, supported by a range of national cotton and grains associations are in the midst of an eight part roadshow throughout central and southern Queensland and northern New South Wales. The focus of the half day events is to arm local advisors, contractors, growers and retailers with the information to make better fallow spraying decisions this summer.
The first SprayWise Roadshow event was held at the Emerald Agricultural College and had an exceptional turnout, with around 40 local agronomists, farmers and machinery and chemical dealers in attendance.
Recognised application consultant, Bill Gordon spoke on a wide range of topics including weather conditions for spraying, adjuvants, decontamination and volatility.
Croplands Northern Region Manager, Jeremy Rennick presented on the set up of Croplands sprayers for superior application and drift reduction – with a particular focus on spray quality and other factors that effect drift. Croplands new Air Flush system was also demonstrated to the group. This feature available for their RoGator, makes the process of decontaminating the sprayer fast and efficient by evacuating all liquid from the boom lines by utilising compressed air via the engine mounted compressor. A RoGator 1300B was on site to allow punters the opportunity to go for a test drive.
Croplands’ Optical Spot Sprayer, WEEDit was also a topic of interest with its ability to target only weeds with active chlorophyll. A demonstration unit was present and there was much discussion about the different chemical mixes appropriate to use with WEEDit, especially when combating hard to kill weeds. Given the machine’s ability to save up to 80% on chemical, there is a greater opportunity to use more highly concentrated chemicals as part of a strategy to delay herbicide resistance.
The morning finished with a Q&A session with all presenters including Nufarm’s R& D officer - Frank Taylor, Croplands NSW/QLD Area Sales Manager - Jeremy Jones, Croplands Northern Region Manager - Jeremy Rennick and Application Consultant - Bill Gordon.
The SprayWise Roadshow has also visited Dalby and Goondiwindi in the last couple of weeks and is soon to hit Bellata, Gunnedah, Warren and Griffith towards the end of the month – see below for dates and locations.
